Yup, it's that time, count down is on. We pack our crap and head back to NY for the summer to see friends, family and the sites. Stay tuned for more info and to hear about the fun adventures...

All I Wanna Do is Mow...

Stupid lawnmower won't start. I've used the thing ONCE, and it won't start now. I swear, if this thing fires up on one try for hubby when he gets home I'm gonna be PISSED.

Other than that, same 'ol same 'ol. Lil man is trying to be an escape artist and lil girl won 2 1st places and one 2nd place ribbon at her Olympic Day at school.

I'll be spending my summer back in NY, working for my dad, spending time with family and friends and going on some bike rides.

Keeping FIngers Corssed

I interviewed for a part time position at a local college. I'll find out this week if I got the job. I really hope so. The job market around here sucks and getting worse. I have good experience though and I'm all in all a pretty cool person to work with :)

I've been immersed in the terrible twos. My mind is a bit more wacky than usual because of it. I have also decided to hold off on serious potty training. Best thing with boys is to absolutely make sure they are ready. I'm not going to take my chances with lil man. He's got a potty he sits on. It's that Fisher Price one that sings and makes music and flush sounds and everything. Very cool, and he likes it. But as for doing business on it, not quite yet me thinks ;)

Been trying to find a new vacuum. I was suckered into a Kirby, which is AWESOME, but hubby was none too pleased about cost in these economic times, so I sent in my cancellation notice and we'll get something cheaper. I think I'll get the Dyson animal. I'll keep you updated on that in the future.

Well, I'm off to send out the Peyton painting, pack for an over night zoo trip with the lil lady and get some dishes done. Take care!

World Rugby Cup

 

SSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, a while back was the World Rugby Cup. Some friends of mine entered a pool and we all picked teams. Some bowed out early - I almost won, but in the end, sweet Mindy took the prize. Here it is - two daffodils, hanging out. It's not perfect, but it's my first time doing flowers in oil. I think it's 18x24 but I'm not positive. I used the Windsor Newton water mixable oil paint. It works pretty well, exspecially with the linseed oil made for that particular brand. I'm hoping it drys quicker so I can get it sent out to Anchorage, AK.

Looooooooooooooooooong Overdue

I've begun work on Cindy's Cornell University Clock Tower. This is a painting I've owed her for two years. Better late than never. I was deciding whether to use ink and make it simple, or watercolor. I figured, my oils are already out, might as well use 'em. I'll also post progress of my friend Mindy's "prize" in a bit. I kind of like working on two at once, they both have the same colors in them, so it works out well :)

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. Well, I know you're not thinking mmmm from the picture. It just doesn't do the dish justice. This a cornbread stuffed meatloaf. A recipe I got from Guy's Big Bite. It's SSSOOOO good. The best meatloaf EVER!!
