I'll be heading home in a little over a week. Mom has taken a turn for the worse. I'm not ready to say goodbye. IT's hard, you think you have things worked out in your head, and it turns out you aren't even close. Thankful for supportive family and friends. Until then...

Paper Roses

I decided to go ahead and try out some paper roses I learned how to make watching an eppi of Martha Stewart. I think they came out pretty good. They went to a speaker at an Art Luncheon I attended.

EXCITEMENT

I've been asked to do a portrait of someone else's child. I'm so elated. Does this mean I am becoming grown up and on to something "professional" Perish the thought, I will never grow up!
In the mean time, I'm bouncing around joyful and getting all sorts of ideas on paper and in the brain, I guess this means I'll be finishing those other 8 projects that have been hanging out in the cobwebs of my inner brain......

Hello folks,
Not much happening these past couple of weeks. Just been hanging out, playing with the kids and searching for a job.....
Soon we begin planning birthday parties for both the kids. Hard to believe how quick they grow.

I'm Tired....

Saturday - sleep in until 7:30, refuse to get up, fall back asleep until 8:20. Mosey out of bed, make bed, sort clothes. Make coffee, drink coffee, eat cereal. Make food for lil man, make food for lil girl. Go to pool with lil girl. Proceed to swim 25 laps, including sprints. Friend leaves pool, other friends show up, might as well do seven more laps to complete a mile long swim. Go home, get lil man, get hubby. House hunting for the next 4 hours.

OMG what is it about house hunting that makes 1 hour seem like 20. I'm freaking tired!!!!!!


That is all - it's my rant for the day. Time to go clean the bathroom, kitchen and living room in preparation for the Super Bowl tomorrow...oh, and make dinner at the same time.

Lots of Hellos

As you can see we have been hard at work around here, LOL. We spent a good 2 weeks with family in upstate NY for the holidays. We even snuck out to spend a great eve. with some great college friends.
The kids made out like bandits. So much so that a couple items need to be mailed to us here in good 'ol Indy. Lil man LOVED hanging out with his grandparents and playing BEAT BEAT BEAT with pillows. (think pillow fight, only gentler) Lil girl sang and danced her way through the holidays with the immense amount of Hanna Montana and High School Musical stuff she got.
Family was good and we even survived the 12 hour drive, both ways, with a toddler in tow. Granted he came back with an ear infection on the last couple days of travel, but he was a trooper. As was lil girl putting up with the slight case of whines.
Hope you all are having a great new year so far, I'm off to apply for more jobs..........

Almost time for vacation

Hey You All Everybody...

Good news. We got four brand new tires last night for free. Turns out the tires we bought a year ago were a bad batch. The belts had slipped on them and we had them replaced. It was making our steering wheel do the shaka shaka dance at highway speeds. Now the car drives like a purrrrring kitten. Of course due to this I was unable to attend the gym and get rid of frustration and body fat. Just have to work extra hard on Wednesday.
Now, I have to locate my brand new Cornell Hockey Winter Cap. I once again misplaced it. A little worried I left it at Sears while they worked on the car. I'll call when they open to see if it's there. I'm sure I wore it home last night, I'm just incredibly forgetful these days of late.
The kids are excited to have Santa visit them at Mama and Bob's this year. I'm not sure how much fun lil man will have with toys. I'm pretty sure the wrapping paper and boxes will be a whole world of fun on their own, LOL. Lil lady can't wait to go sledding and play in the snow. Let's just say not a lot of snow fall in this part of the Midwest. Not like we're used to. I mean, when Wal Mart doesn't even sell snow pants, you know you've moved to an alien town.

When the Fit hits the Shan

I just got horrible news about a family member. I think I'll be making a trip back home this weekend. It's horrible but I told them to fight with everything they have.

I guess life is never what you expect it to be huh? Time to pick up my lil girl from school. Hugs from her always make me feel better.

Same Stuff different week, I think...

HELLO ALL

So it's the first official week of December and still no snow here. I'm not saying I want snow per say, but when it gets this cold, some white stuff should at least accompany it. Not much going on here. Watching some movies, cleaning a little house, swimming with friends and making my FAVORITE dish from our Vietnamese cookbook. (fav so far anyway)

Lil man and girl are well. He's a terror and she's too smart for her own good. Boy are we in trouble in a few more years. Other than that, we need to get our X-mas tree out of the box and hook up that bad boy.
